  • Day 1 21st Oct 2026

    Day 1: Guwahati Airport - Umiam Lake View Point - Mawkdok Valley

    Morning Highlights:

    • Departure at 10:10 AM from Guwahati airport today's journey is the longest of the trip, travelling from southern Assam almost to the Indo-Bangla border.
    • Within the first hour, cross six route intersections between Assam & Meghalaya, crisscrossing the two states as the route winds through changing landscapes from city bustle to green highways to quiet village roads.
    • Umiam Lake Viewpoint: A halt en route to enjoy juicy pineapples with a picturesque lake view.


    On the Way:

    • Gradual temperature drop from Guwahati's ~30°C to Mawkdok's cooler ~15°C as we approach the valley (4–5 hrs travel time).


    Afternoon Highlights:

    • Mawkdok Valley (~2:00 PM): Weather may shift between fog, rain, and sun in all in one visit!
    • Zip-Lining Adventure: East India's longest zip-line at 2,600 ft long, 1,200 ft maximum depth guided by trained, certified instructors.
    • Lunch at a nearby café, followed by a visit to a small waterfall (visible during the zip-line ride).


    Evening:

    • Transfer (approx. 1 hour) to a unique bamboo hut stay on a hillside in the remote East Khasi Hills. Dinner served by local Khasi hosts a great chance to interact using simple Hindi/English and learn about their culture.


    Highlight of the Day:

    • Umiam Lake Viewpoint
    • East India's Longest Zip-Line at Mawkdok Valley
    • Overnight stay in Bamboo Huts, East Khasi Hills

    • In case you're gonna reach Guwahati anytime earlier than the trip starting day, our team will be happy to help you out with suggestions for good stays, places to visit around, and any other doubts you might have.
    • Pick-up from your stay location or the nearest location shall be arranged if it falls in the same route.
    • Please freshen up & have your breakfast before 10:00 AM; the food court is available at just a minute's distance once you come outside the airport, or several restaurants are available at a distance of a kilometre on the way to VIP Chowk from the airport exit.
    • You can keep the luggage inside our vehicle and head there. Once started, the vehicle will not halt for breakfast on the way.

  • Day 2 22nd Oct 2026

    Day 2 : Pynursla - Krangshuri Waterfall - Dawki River - Pynursla

    Quick Highlights:

    • Total journey: 115 Km
    • Estimated travel time: 4 Hr
    • Activities: Swimming, Boating, Cliff jumping
    • Places: Krang Shuri Waterfall, Dawki River, Indo-Bangla border in water & on land
    • Stay: Bamboo Huts in Pynursla (A good bed to sleep and clean washroom to get things done!)

    Morning Highlights:

    • Early Start (6:00 AM): Depart for Krang Shuri Waterfall under 2 hours away through small hills with green trees & bushes.
    • Bangladesh View: After around half an hour, catch a glimpse of Bangladesh's sandy terrain through the window.
    • Krang Shuri Waterfall: Quick breakfast on arrival, followed by a 10–15 minute forest hike to the waterfall. Life jackets (mandatory) provided before diving into the azure blue waters plenty of time to swim and play here.


    Afternoon Highlights:

    • Dawki River Boating (~1 hour away): Spot the "Do Not Cross The Border – India" board near the boating point, with an Indian check post and BSF personnel close by.
    • Boat Ride: Life jackets on for a scenic ride to the cliff jumping point (~25 ft cliff) and onward to a small island. Non-swimmers can safely jump with life jackets & boatmen support; swimmers should carry swimming goggles.
    • Local Vibe: Boatmen sometimes sing local songs, adding to the magical experience of crystal-clear water and rock-cut channels.
    • Snack Break: Stalls near the steps offer quick bites; fresh fruits (oranges, pineapples, berries) available on the main road.


    Evening: Head back to the stay in Pynursla (approx. 40 minutes).

    Highlight of the Day:

    • Head back to the stay in Pynursla (approx. 40 minutes).
    • Krang Shuri Waterfall

    Notes:

    • You need not carry all your luggage; it will remain in the stay place itself.
    • Carry one extra pair of clothing, a water bottle, snacks, sandals (no need for shoes today), cap - raincoat as per the season, and some cash that would be sufficient for the day!
    • We'll be getting into the water twice throughout the day, so quick-dry clothing will be helpful and do wear a quick-dry pair of clothes right from the morning.

  • Day 3 23rd Oct 2026

    Day 3: Pynursla- Mawryngkhang - Cherrapunjee-Tyrna

    Quick Highlights:

    • Total journey: 110 Km
    • Estimated travel time: 5 Hr
    • Highlights: Mawryngkhang Bamboo Trek, Natural Water Pool, Wei Sawdong Waterfall
    • Activities: Trekking, Swimming
    • Trek Time:
    1. Mawryngkhang Bamboo Trek – Approx. 3-4 Hr up & down
    2. Hike to Wei Sawdong Waterfall – Approx. 15 min one way
    • Stay: Jungle resort near Tyrna (A good bed to sleep and clean washroom to get things done!)


    Morning Highlights:

    • Head to the off-beat Mawryngkhang Bamboo Trek a skywalk made of bamboo and the 3-layered Wei Sawdong Waterfall.
    • ~1 hour to reach Wahkhen village (trek starting point), with a heavy breakfast on the way. Route passes through Pomlum village and a bamboo forest before reaching Wahkhen, where small stalls sell snacks.
    • Mawryngkhang Bamboo Trek: Walk across bamboo bridges from Wahkhen village to the U Mawryngkhang stone steeped in local folk tale, best heard on reaching the top!
    • Trek begins with a 25-minute descent into the valley, crossing the Umrew river via bamboo bridges & stones, followed by an ascent through lush forest with a stream alongside.
    • Reach U Mawryngkhang stone after ~2 hours time to soak in the view before returning via the same route.


    Afternoon Highlights:

    • Quick lunch on the way back to Wahkhen, then head to Wei Sawdong Waterfall (under 2 hrs from Wahkhen).
    • A 15–20 minute hike down leads to the waterfall teal blue water cascading through 3 layers, a truly heavenly sight.


    Evening:

    • Approx. 1.5 hours to reach today's stay a secluded forest resort near Tyrna, one of the team's favourites. Freshly prepared meals served by local women in traditional attire. The stay has several viewpoints to explore over the two-day stay.

    • You will be carrying all your luggage today as we are moving to another destination.
    • Pack one extra pair of clothing, water bottle, snacks, cap - raincoat as per the season in a small sack so that you can carry it during the trek.
    • Wear your sports shoe/trekking shoe, which will help you get a good grip on the trek.

  • Day 4 24th Oct 2026

    Day 4 :Tyrna - Nongriat - Tyrna (25 Km)

    Quick Highlights:

    • Total journey: 15 Km
    • Estimated travel time: 1 Hr
    • Activities: Trekking, Swimming
    • Highlights: Double Decker Root Bridge (UNESCO World Heritage Site), Suspension Bridges, Living Root Bridges, Natural Pools, Rainbow Waterfall
    • Trek Distance: 4.5 Km (one way), Trek Time: 4-6 Hr
    • Stay: Jungle resort near Tyrna (A good bed to sleep and clean washroom to get things done!)


    Morning Highlights:

    • The longest & most rewarding hike of the trip! Route: Tyrna village → Double-Decker Root Bridge → Rainbow Waterfall total 9 km to & fro.
    • The hike involves descending ~3,500 steps into the valley, then ascending & traversing right towards Rainbow Waterfall, passing through lush green forest, azure blue water pools, and frequent shops along this popular trail.
    • Double-Decker Root Bridge (~1 hr 15 min from Tyrna): A stunning ~200-year-old living root bridge, crossed via suspension bridges en route. Breakfast here before continuing.
    • Marvel at the entwined tree roots holding the weight of visitors keep an eye out for additional living root bridges along the way.


    Afternoon Highlights:

    • After 4.5 km, reach the Rainbow Waterfall its roar audible from 100 meters away. A truly rewarding sight, with azure blue waters perfect for a refreshing swim.
    • Ample time spent here before heading back the same route, with lunch on the way and the steep climb back up from Double-Decker Bridge to Tyrna.

    • Double-Decker Root Bridge (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
    • Rainbow Waterfall
    • Living Root Bridges & Suspension Bridges

    Notes:

    • Today as well, you need not carry all your luggage just carry your daypack along with one extra pair of clothing. Do wear a quick-dry pair of clothes & shoes right from the morning.
    • Make sure you carry plenty of water & healthy snacks like energy bars, fruits, and beverages like lemon juice/fruit juices/ORS which provide instant sugars to your body.

  • Day 5 25th Oct 2026

    Day 5 : Cherrapunjee - Nohkalikai Waterfalls - Guwahati Airport

    Quick Highlights:

    • Total journey: 190 Km
    • Estimated travel time: 7 Hr
    • Places: Nohkalikai Waterfall Viewpoint


    Morning Highlights:

    • Last day of the trip! On the way, visit the Nohkalikai Waterfall Viewpoint.
    • This day also serves as a buffer day any missed places from earlier days can be covered today.


    Departure:

    • Plan your return journey after 6:00 PM from Guwahati Airport.

This trip involves trekking, hiking, swimming, and some physically demanding activities. While you don't need to be a professional athlete, a basic level of physical fitness and stamina is essential.

Basic facilities will be available, but please note that this is a backpacking trip with a focus on nature and adventure, so facilities may be limited.

Accommodations are basic and in line with the backpacking experience. You'll stay in bamboo huts in remote areas. Clean washrooms are provided. Triple/Quad sharing basis. Double sharing upgrade!

Local meals will be provided, offering a taste of the regional cuisine. Please note that this is a budget trip, and luxury dining experiences are not expected.

The ideal time for this trip is during the winter months from October to March when the weather is more comfortable for outdoor activities.

Internal transport depends upon the batch size. it could be a regular 5 seater or a bigger car or it can be a bus.
