Bhandardara Waterfall Tours
Experience Nature's Bliss at Bhandardara
About
Bhandardara Waterfalls, Lake & the Valley of Shadows
Bhandardara sits quietly in the Western Ghats, in Maharashtra's Ahmednagar district. Most people know it for Wilson Dam and Arthur Lake, but there's more here a few solid waterfalls, an old temple, and a canyon locals call the Valley of Shadows.
Wilson Dam dates back to 1910, one of the oldest in India. Behind it, Arthur Lake stays calm and forest-lined, good for a slow boat ride, and right before monsoon, it's actually a decent spot to catch fireflies at night.
Then there's Randha Falls the one people really come for. It drops close to 170 feet on the Pravara River, about 10 km out from Bhandardara. Umbrella Falls is a different story; it forms when the dam overflows, spreading water out in this wide, fan-like sheet. Necklace Falls is smaller, tucked along the way to Amruteshwar Temple easy to miss if you're not looking for it.
