Torna Fort History in Brief
Also known as Prachandagad Torna Fort holds a key place in Maratha history. In 1646, just at the age of 16, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj conquered this fort. It was his first major conquest, which eventually laid the base of the entire Maratha Empire.
Located at a high altitude, approximately 4,603 ft, the Torna Fort was later expanded and strengthened due to its defensive importance. The fort reflects the advanced mediaeval engineering and military planning of the ancient Marathas.

Itinerary
- Day 1
Journey Begins
- 05:30 AM: Pickup at BMCC College, FC Road
- 06:15 AM: Pickup at Xion Mall, Hinjewadi
- 08:00 AM: Reach the base village and freshen up for breakfast
- 08:30 AM: Start the trek to the fort; it will take around 2.5 hours to reach the summit
- 12:00 PM: Reach the top and explore the fort
- 02:00 PM: Start the descent to the base of the fort
- 04:00 PM: Reach the base village and enjoy a late lunch
- 06:00 PM: Depart for Pune
- 09:00 PM: Arrive back in Pune with loads of memories and, of course, new friends

You can safely keep your extra bags in the bus during the trek.
